Checklist for houseguest prep:
Your guests are soon to arrive and you find yourself frantic over a list of “shoot” I forgot to ……
Well, if you give yourself a top five must-dos, you can be a bit more organized and calm.
A step further will give you some extra time to perhaps add nice extras to your guest bedroom and bath.
1. Clean and tidy up.
Putting unwanted / unnecessary items away. Make sure mail isn’t laying around, trash and recycling are taken out.
2. Clean and restock bathroom.
No one is perfect but having bathrooms clean is essential. If you are like me, checking to ensure toilets are flushed because of little ones is key. Ugh! Simply wipe down sinks, toilets, showers and tubs. Empty out trash and stock cabinets with toilet paper and towels.
3. Fresh sheets.
Make sure to put crisp clean sheets on the bed and set out extra pillows and blankets.
4. Morning essentials.
People are usually easy breezy in the morning time but tend to be creatures of habit.
I usually like to be up before my guests. Having a coffee / tea station is crucial for everyone. Perhaps putting out muffins, bagels, fruit, cereal / granola and juice can get the day started without getting crazy. It also makes people feel right at home.
5. Adult beverages.
Ok, here is the deal, knowing your guests is important for entertaining purpose. Having a well stocked bar is great. Having options is nice but having your drink of choice when visiting makes for an easy and comforting stay. It also shows your guest you were thinking of them and going out of your wayJ
Nice extras I like to do:
· Fresh flowers
· Scented candles
· Grab and go snacks
· Extra power strip for laptops and phones
Hello, nice to see you!
